How to create a list of filenames in a folder

Using File Explorer's "Copy as path" (for copying into documents)

This method is useful for pasting file paths directly into another application.

Open the folder: in File Explorer.
Select all files: within that folder by pressing Ctrl + A.
Hold down the Shift key .
Right-click: anywhere on the selected files.
Select "Copy as path": from the context menu.
Open Excel, Notepad, or another application and paste the copied paths (Ctrl+V).
